Coach Raney and Coach Nat met in 2010 at the end of the field hockey season. Coach Raney had just finished her fourth season as head coach at Muhlenberg High School in Reading, PA and was still umpiring NCAA field hockey. Coach Nat didn't even know what field hockey was at that time! Finding family and work balance became difficult because of the distance between Reading and Camp Hill. So, Coach Raney decided to stick with umpiring for a while. Coach Nat followed her to every single Division I match and learned the game through observation, Coach Raney's stories, and her network of hockey friends. Coach Nat decided that he too would become an umpire and he worked his way up to NCAA DIII matches. When Coach Raney decided to slowly transition back into coaching, it seemed naturally for Coach Nat to join her. Their joint field hockey journey has been magnificent! They continually grow with the game, personally and professionally and they are eternally grateful for their field hockey family.
